Antelope Island Family Session
Saturday, December 27, 2014
Had the opportunity to shoot this cute family for their fun family session. (She just happens to be my boot camp trainer, so the pressure was on!)
I love it when my clients bring their own props to add to mine. So fun!!! Matter of fact, she chose this location as well. They turned out great! Here's a sneak...

Oh, the joys of photographing toddlers.. even your own grandson. :)
It was time for my daughter's in-laws' family portrait session. And so far, every shoot I've done that included him has been a bit of a disaster. Well, not really, but I've been unable to get him to completely cooperate during an official shoot. Any other time.. he's all smiles and cuteness and will pose for me all day long.
Vacation Blues
Friday, April 18, 2014
Just returned from a road trip with my sister to Northern California and Southern Oregon. We had a really good time and it went too fast.
Sigh...
... and now it's time to get back to work.
I am currently working on this senior shoot.

Looking back to the early stages of my photography journey. This was my very first photo shoot.
Not too bad. :)
Busy, Busy, Busy
Wednesday, February 5, 2014
So.... one of the disadvantages of
being my daughter is that sometimes your shoot gets pushed back some.
This fall resulted in my first ever 'busy' season. Couple that with
computer and software problems.., well, needless to say, it put me
behind. But I'm finally getting back to it. Just a couple more to edit
and I'm all caught up! Yay!

Wow, I'm actually getting sooo behind in blogging and editing. So many photos from this summer. Here's what I'm working on now.
A little dark haired cutie!
New Toy and New Location
Sunday, August 18, 2013
I'm so excited! I got a new toy today. My Wacom Bamboo Splash! I was recently diagnosed with 'tennis elbow.' I knew it was caused, in large part, to the time I spend on the computer editing photos. The pain has gotten so bad I decided to break down and get the Bamboo tablet. I had read that it could help with my problem. Altho' I 've only had it a day, I already love it. Besides the relief I can already feel on my arm, it's so much more accurate. I believe my editing will go a bit faster now, which will in turn, aid in the quicker healing of my arm. It's a win-win! Yay!
This is my first edit with my tablet. My beautiful niece, always at the ready to model for me when I need to test out a new location or technique.
Probably took me longer than usual to edit, but I can tell I will only get quicker the more I use it.
1st Annual Park City Stay {Back to School}
Saturday, August 10, 2013
My daughter and I decided to start a new tradition. Back-to-school shopping at the Park City outlets! We thought we'd also make it a girls' night (+ one cute little boy) sleepover. Of course, we invited Connie along.
All of this for our Miss Marley, who is starting 1st grade this year! I can't believe it! She's growing up so fast... :(
Before heading to the outlets, we decided to go ride the Alpine Slide. I thought I was going to ride myself so I didn't bring my camera along. Then we decided maybe AJ wasn't quite ready for the chair lift ride up to the slide. So he and I stayed behind.
Not to worry, he got to enjoy some rides that were made especially for him.
{These were taken with my phone.}
After shopping we had some dinner at the hotel.
My girls!!! {also taken w/phone}
The next day, after a quick stop at the outlets again, we took a stroll along Main Street.
Then stopped for some iced coffee, ice cream & smoothies along the way. Delish!! :)
Have never had, nor wanted, an iced coffee... I like my coffee warm, even in the summertime. Not sure why I've never given it a shot.
Needless to say I was pleasantly surprised!
I loved it!

I Love Park City! :)
To cap off the trip we went back to Mel's and had a movie night.
What a great couple of days!
'Till next time...

This is my favorite image from this shoot! My first attempt at a silhoette. Let me know what you think.
Light
Tuesday, May 21, 2013
At this time of year... well, most times of the year really, I like to bring flowers into the house. Especially as we don't have any outside yet. (My bad... I agreed to do the flower beds when we put in the lawn. Just another thing on my endless 'to do' list.)
Anywhooo, I don't like to spend much, as they don't last very long. So I usually go down to the local grocery and buy what they have on clearance.
I got these roses today and decided to play around before they go bad.
I really like the light on these.
Edited with Florabella's Bright XP and a texture from Nichole V.

Just before school Friday morning, I had to take a pic of Missy Lou.. She just looked so cute. I wanted to take her outside, it was a beautiful morning. She insisted on this location and this pose. lol
Such a cutie!
Afterwards, she wanted to take a pic of me. Ugh, I hate pictures of myself! lol Of course, instead of moaning I handed her my camera. Keep in mind, it's my D700 with my 24-70mm zoom on it. So it was very heavy. She's just a wee little 5 yr old so I was a little concerned.
I helped her hold it vertically, she took the shot and handed it back to me. When I looked at the screen, I could tell she'd done a good job and told her so. She said "I put the little black square on your eye before I took the picture." So proud! I don't think I've ever told her that though I'm sure she's heard me tell her mom. She did pretty good, wouldn't you say?
(Not sure why but the pics look a tad bit grainy. Oh well.)
